Steven Shedd

Steven Shedd, a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, serves as the Director of Tribal Enterprise for the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative. Steven works with Tribes to advance food security, food safety, and Tribal agriculture enterprise development.
Before joining IFAI, Steven worked as a Staff Attorney with the Northern Arapaho Tribe, where he helped Tribal leaders draft ordinances and regulations, provided legal advice and policy development assistance to Tribal departments and enterprises, and advised Tribal leaders on a variety of legal matters, Steven has also interned for the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, completed work for the United Nations’ Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and previously worked for the National Pork Producers Council.
Steven is licensed to practice in Montana and has been admitted to the Wind River Tribal Court and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Tribal Court.
Steven received a B.S. in Agricultural Communications from Texas Tech University and a J.D. from the University of Arizona with a certificate in Environmental Law.
