Joseph Damaso is a Policy Liaison at the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative at the University of Arkansas School of Law. His role at IFAI consists of conducting policy research, drafting policy documents, and liaising with Tribal Nations, Native Americans, and US Federal agencies.
Prior to coming to IFAI, Joseph worked in the Canadian Federal Public Service for over 20 years, most recently as a senior policy analyst with Indigenous Services Canada. As a member of the Canadian Federal Public Service, Joseph worked closely with First Nation communities, Indigenous Representative Organizations, and Indigenous governments on key national files such as First Nation Child and Family Services Program and the On-reserve Income Assistance Program.
Joseph holds a Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Organizational Development and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
