Jamie Black is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation from Salina, Oklahoma. Born and raised on the Cherokee reservation, Jamie moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to attend the University of Arkansas where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Indigenous Studies in 2022.

She was fortunate enough to land a job as a Policy Assistant at the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative where she conducts policy research and supports IFAI’s policy team in its work. She is passionate about promoting Tribal sovereignty as well as uplifting Native American communities across the country.
